Chatuchak market Chatuchak weekend market
This is a large open public ground covering more than 25 acres on Phahon Yothin road. People can take the sky train and get off at the northern terminal station Morchit. Every Saturday and Sunday tens of thousands of shoppers come to look for anything from exotic fresh fruits, vegetables, handicrafts, paintings, ceramics, dress materials, furniture, toys, domestic utensils, pets, plants and second hand books.

It opens from 0700hrs till 1800hrs. Some sections of the market are opening on week days too. The market is next to the popular Chatuchak public park.

China town
Bangkok's China town is an old business center covering a large area around Yaowarat road and Charoen Krung road (New road). There are many small streets and alleys lined with all kinds of shops. Goods available include stationary, toys, golds and other jewelry, household items, traditional Chinese food stuffs, and lot of restaurants.

Flowers and plants markets
There are mainly three places to purchase flowers and plants:

Pak Khlong Talat (or a market by the mouth of canal) is located on Maha Rat road, near the Memorial bridge. It contains five adjacent markets and thus one of the largest wholesale and distribution center for vegetables, flowers and fruits.

Talat Thewet is located on Sam Sen road on the bank of Klong (canal) Phadung Krung Kasem. Large selection of exotic plants and flowers suitable for both outdoor and indoor gardens are available.

Suan Chatuchak is a new section of Chatuchak weekend market located on Phahon Yothin road. There are rows of small shops selling variety of decorative potted plants, and many species of orchids.

Various Thai handicrafts made by villagers in the agricultural areas. products include Thai silk, cotton, silver ware, bronze ware, terra-cotta, ceramic, pentachrome porcelain, Thai dolls, mother-of-pearl inlay, wood curving, basketery, and so on. Accept large and small volume purchase, and will arrange export and shipping if requested.

They are operating in joint venture with Ministry of Industry. The main store opens from 1000hrs till 2000hrs. It is at Rajadamri road, opposite World Trade Center. They also have outlets in Bangkok and Pattaya. Contact phone number is +66-2-252 4670 ~ 9.

Pratunam market
This large area of bazaar is located on the intersection of Phetchaburi road and Ratchadamri road. It is packed with stalls, peddlers and shops selling fabric and ready-to-wear fashions. Close to this market are seafood restaurants, outdoor eateries, computer and accessories complex "Pantit" and a passenger boat pier on the canal.

Taling Chan floating market Taling Chan floating market
It is located in front of Taling Chan district office, on the western side of Chao Phra river. This weekend market is open from 0900hrs till 1700hrs. People can get there by boat or by bus. Boat trip services are available for sightseeing along the canals where gardens and village life style could still be viewed. Tropical fruits, vegetables and other fresh products are available for purchase.
